Abstract EN

This study aims to know the effects of social media sites upon community values of university students.

It takes "Facebooks" as an example.

The study follows the positive and negative social changes of university students which made by the effect of social media.

It depends on many questions: First, what's the effect of social media in changing the social values of university students? Secondly, What's the negative effect upon university students who using social media? Thirdly, What's the positive effect upon university students who using social media?.

The researcher uses the descriptive analytical methodology and the population is the third level of the various specifications of College of Education of Imam Mahdi University in the year of 2018 up to 2019.

The sample has been selected randomly of (100) students (male/female) who represents about 45% of the total population of the study.

The researcher used the (SPSS) to analyze data.

The study concludes that: Social media can change the social values of university students with an average of (2.60) with a high rate.

The negative effects of social media upon university students' social values with a high rate average of (2.58).

The study recommended that university students must be oriented and directed to the positive effect sides of social media of community and cautioning them of it negative effects.

The study finally introduces many suggestions for more future studies
