Abstract EN

This research aimed to study verbal ability of male and female students in secondary school in Omdurman Locality.

To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher used the descriptive analytical way to analyze the data and deliberately choose stratified random sample of (120) students of them (60) students (males) (60) student (females) students of secondary school in Omdurman Locality.

The researcher also tested academic verbal ability, prepared by Mohamed Mustafa Al Deeb (1995).

After these tests were applied, the researcher analyzed the data statistically using arithmetic averages, standard deviations and t-test, correlation coefficients and analysis of variance was the most important results are as follows:-The students (males and females) in secondary school in Omdurman Locality, characterized by High-grade level on a scale verbal ability.

There is no difference in the average of the students’ performance on a scale of verbal ability and variable according to sex (male, female).The study recommended that psychologists should make psychological and educational programmes for the educational institutions so as to find out and treat the psychological weakness among the students in order to raise the students’ average of verbal ability
