Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the reality of the application of Islamic banking in the Libyan commercial banks and the obstacles to implementation, and the study community included all commercial banks operating in the city of Al Bayda, where the study sample included the employees of the Islamic Murabaha administration in those banks, and a questionnaire was specifically prepared to conform With the aims of the study, a number of (35) questionnaires were distributed and a number of (30) usable forms were approved.

The study relied on analyzing data on the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program, and descriptive statistical analysis was used by the arithmetic mean , Standard deviation and frequencies to see the responses of the respondents about the study questions.

The study reached to several results, the most important of which are: 1.

There are difficulties that hinder the application of Islamic banking in Libyan commercial banks, including the lack of harmony between legal bodies about Islamic banking transactions, the lack of leaders who believe in the idea of Islamic banking and the seriousness of Islamic dealings in commercial banks operating in the city of Al Bayda, high risks Islamic products 2.

Commercial banks operating in the city of Al Bayda are making acceptable efforts to develop Islamic banking, through having effective methods related to developing Islamic banking, providing adequate legal evidence for the permissibility of dealing Islamic financial products.

The study concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which are: the necessity of working to establish organizations working to develop and organize the profession of Islamic banking in Libyan commercial banks, training scientifically and practically of banking personnel to work in Islamic banks, working to integrate Islamic banking in the curricula of universities and graduate studies programs.
