This study aimed to investigate the reasons of students' reluctance to participate in the evaluation process of the faculty member from the points of view of engineering students at Sultan Qaboos University.
The population of study included engineering students from all its different departments.
The sample of study consisted of (443) male and female students.
The study followed a descriptive-analytical approach, and a questionnaire was utilized to collect student’s views.
The questionnaire consisted of three dimensions (Reasons related to the students, reasons related to the faculty member, and reasons related to the questionnaire).
The results revealed that the reality of participation of students is generally weak.
The most important reasons for the reluctance were the student's lack of certainty about the effectiveness of evaluation, and his poor confidence that this evaluation will have positive results, and the failure of the faculty member to benefit from previous evaluation.
Further, filling the questionnaire is not mandatory.
