The banking system is the main financier in the indebted economies where the financial needs are very large than the available funds, and this is due to the inefficiency of the financial markets or its completely absence, which made it a major focus for the financing development movement in Algeria.

This sector knew many reforms since independence, but his commitment to financing public sector form a heavy burden on it financial position, which prevented the achievement of the desired objectives.

Due to the dictates of the new economic and financial data at the national and international levels, the sector still faces significant challenges and at all levels, so we will try through this article to diagnose the reality of the Algerian banking system and the main challenges it faces.
