Abstract EN

This study is the third of a series of my studies about " the nature of poetic knowledge in pre-lslamic period ".

It is the first of these studies about the philosophy of image of that knowledge.

It studies the complexity of image and the common understanding in both ancient and modern criticism, and its function in poetry by only there concentrating on the litrary and easthestic side of it.

Therefore, I devoted this study to understand the underhand side of thought represented by the easthitic side of it.

, and that necessity of understanding the poetic image to be the easthitic style of the poet's thought.

It is not only artistic formation devoid of the deep thinking and conscious.

This led to speak about the organic unity of poem.

I have found also that this poetic and imagable formation is approaching imaginable formation of dream.

I study practical examples about these ideas of long poem of Al-Nabigha Al-Thubyani.

I shall specify the second study of philosophy of image to study the sensational function of it, and third study to the existential function .
