Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to measure teaching effectiveness at the department of Accounting / Yarmouk University by student evaluation.

A sample of (513) students was selected at random from all students registered in Accounting courses during the first term 1990/1991.

A questionnaire implemented at the Mclntire School of Commerce / The University of Virginia was used to collect the datwa.

The infernal consistency for the test, using Coronbach Alpha, was very high, (.93).

Moreover, the internal consistency for its three components (Course and subject; Text, Readings and Exams; and Instructor) was also high (.78; .75; .93 respectively).

This indicates a high degree of reliability.

In addition, the results indicate high degree of correlation between.the score of each question and both the overall scale score ami the overall rating.

These results were consistent with those reported in the educational, psychological and accounting literature.
