Abstract EN

This study dealt with the political organizations and parties in Jordan from 1950 - 1957.

The political and intellectual platforms of these parties, their organization, and the nature of their roles and functions have been investigated systematically.

Utilizing the descriptive, historical, and comparative approaches, the researcher arrived at the conclusion that political parties in Jordan had been relatively unsuccessful during the period of study.

This failure is attributed to the lack of effective institutionalization of political parties, their inability to contribute to the processes of comprehensive development both socially and politically.

their lack of awareness of the realities of the country, their reliance on externally determined policies, their non-committal attitude toward constitutional constraints, and Anally their opting for opposition instead of co-operation Nevertheless, political parties in Jordan acheived a measure of success in mobilizing the Jordanian masses la defiance of the established authority during the period under discussion.
