Abstract EN

The study aims al illustrating the Various modes of irony which take their forms in the textual space of narrative structures like short stories .In addition to the dependence of those modes on definite tcchmgues which help to generate irony a ( contrast pun,deviation,similitude, comcdy........etc) The study shows the ironic modes and their operating techniques throughout (Cinema I-ragrance) , the collection of stories written by Nazar Abdul-Satar who took benefit from this phenomenon in creating astatc of stsbiJity between ncasonability and irrcasonability or, certainity and thought or reality and imagination or what is historic and what is in the time beiing in his texts which depend on employing the remote history and the estrange and tragic atmosperes and pubular (radiation .

Those ironic modes may interfere to form adominate style under whic the other types are listed .Or may transcend those modes in one structure of stoiy .As we in this study not to follow all those modes , we shall illustrate three signification ironic modes which are: narrative dramatic and surprising irony.
