The ancient Iraqi’s including the Assyrian have realized the importance of water to their life, where the Tigris and the Euphrates were both the major reason that stand behind the emergence of the Mesopotamia civilization.

This paper is an attempt to give active picture about some aspects of the Assyrians religions thought concerning their warship and sanctity toward the water god (Anki/ Aia).

Such aspects originated from thew belief that water is the origin of existence.

This paper talks about the water god, it’s titles and rank among the gods and the Assyrians.

It also taeklesit’s role in the Assyrian myths them the water uses in some of the rituals and ceremonies of which the Assyrian had made like the sacred purification, the review test, during the Royal hunting ceremonies, in the explanation of dreams.

The paper tackled the most significant symbols which represented the water god on the sculptures and the Assyrian engravings.
