Abstract EN

The ancient Arabs grammarians interested on the study of the “prepositions”, so they made it at the same category as the “Noun” and “Verb”, because of its great value.

As well , they studied the role of “prepositions” in linking the lingual elements with each other , and they categorized that under the term “INTERLINKED” named by Abdul Kaher EL Jurjani .

Also they divided the prepositions into “ ACTIVE” and “INACTIVE” from the idea of “specialty” by entering from the lingual elements that it uses, being active if it is alone, and inactive if it is multiple , as they went far in extrapolating the meanings of the prepositions from “borrowing language” feature , all this work comes to appreciate the efforts the first grammarians to link this great heritage with the efforts of “textual linguists” , in dealing with the role of prepositions in making the” textual cohesion” through a new reading of the effectiveness of the prepositions and its ability in linking between the lingual elements, and due to the large number of “prepositions” and their difficulty in Arabic Language , here we study some of them.
