Abstract EN

This research aims at examining the relationship between dependence syndrome and some dependence specifications such as the type of substance, duration, and frequency of relapse.

To achieve that objective, the correlational method, was adopted through forming the dependence syndrome scalc.

After checking the psychometric properties, a sample consisted of (200) individuals, were selected from psychiatric hospitals in Khartoum State, The collected data, were analyzed through suitable statistical methods pertaining to (SPSS).

The most outstanding research outcomes were as follows: • There was positive significant correlation between the dependence syndrome and duration of substance use.

• There was significant statistical difference on dependence syndrome attributed to the type of substance favored both alcohol and cannabis dependence.

• Possibility of depcndcnce syndrome through the frequency of relapse.

The results were discussed on the basis of the research dieorelical framework and the researcher presented a number of recommendations and propositions.
