Information technology is a contemporary method that aims to provide information to the beneficiaries in high accuracy and in a timely manner.

Despite the multiplicity of beneficiaries of its outputs, the intellectual capital of the individuals who have the ability to think, analysis and creativity as well as decision makers are the most benefit from the outputs of these technologies, which can contribute to raising the level of performance.

The current research aims to identify the important role embodied by information technology in the development of intellectual capital.

The field research was carried out by the National Insurance Company / Basrah Branch.

The survey method was used for the research community consisting of (68) individual department managers and employees.

A questionnaire designed for this purpose included 26 questions on the use of information technology in the organization in question.

The research also relied on a main hypothesis that "there is a significant relationship and effect between information technology and intellectual capital.

" The research reached a number of conclusions, Intellectual is the elite It is distinguished from the human resources that have the ability to think and innovate through the employment of information technology.

A number of recommendations have been developed, the most important of which is the need to use information technology to raise and improve the level of performance in the organization in question and enhance intellectual capital skills.
