They witnessed increases from 2002 to 2008, while during the second half of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 they were characterized by sudden fluctuations due to the effects of the global financial crisis which affected the volume of oil revenues Iraq, and in view of the importance of the oil sector in the Iraqi economy as the main role of the Iraqi public budget and therefore these fluctuations in crude oil prices affect the total expenditure and public revenues and then on the overall financial situation of the Iraqi public budget, The general budget in Iraq linked to prices and the volume of production of crude oil, has played several factors in the changes in the prices of crude oil, including political factors, including economic and other, because of these factors reached the price of a barrel of crude oil by the beginning of 2016 about $ 40 a barrel in the international market, which placed a heavy burden on the budget The revenues of crude oil exports are the main engine of the economic development and management of all sectors of the Iraqi economy.
