The aim of our study is the impact of floating exchange rate of the Algerian dinar on the macroeconomic performance, Is to clarify the important reasons for the fear of floating and The absence of total convertibility, Where we measured the effect of exchange rate fluctuations on macroeconomic performance, In particular the financial determinants (original fishing effect and the Pass-Trough effect), estimation of long-term relationships using the cointegration test and the models VAR during the period 1995-2016, The study revealed the presence of a negative impact and the Pass-Trough effect is high for inflation and GDP.

This explains the difficulty of the floating exchange rate trend, preferable to adopt a fixed exchange rate regime and control the foreign exchange markets.
