Abstract EN

This research deals with the creation of designs for women's abaya fabrics through the aesthetic formulations of the Saudi folklore.

This highlights the importance of studying the art of heritage through the actual coexistence of artistic works by analyzing, meditating, and utilizing the available artistic values in creating designs of women's abaya fabrics which helps to develop the cultural and artistic outcomes through artistic designs as it is one of the visual means that enrich the culture stemming from the cultural heritage and reflects on the development of national sense.

The research was divided into several parts, starting with the definition of the research through the introduction, objectives, hypotheses, methodology, then to identify the Saudi folklore, its characteristics and advantages followed by exposure to some of the selected heritage elements and take advantage of their formulations in the Saudi heritage to develop the national sense through the creation of (8) designs for women's gowns fabrics accompanied by technical analysis for each design followed by a proposed employment model.

A questionnaire was presented to some of the specialized arbitrators from university professors to make sure that the research objectives were achieved.

The results showed that the Saudi folklore can be used to enrich the designs of gowns through achieving the design and employment aspect.
