Abstract EN

The present study aimed at identifying the services and programs offered to students with learning disabilities in the university stage and trying to discuss the most prominent challenges and obstacles they are facing.

Also it aimed at identifying their characteristics and academic social and psychological needs.

This was processing through the theoretical review of what has resulted in the contemporary educational and psychological studies in this field.

The results of the previous studies have resulted in a gap between the prescribed policies and actual practices in universities.

These students also suffer from many problems : FIRST : academic problems such as (dyslexia, weakness in writing, rabid reading and calculation).

SECOND : social problems such as (fear of being described as having learning disabilities so they try to conceal it and the inability to communicate effectively with their teachers and peers as well as suffering from dealing with others in the university and to deal with different situations within the university).

THIRD : psychological problems such as (low self-esteem ; persistent concern; test anxiety ; inability to control emotions (e.g.

emotional and environmental sensitivity).

The studies have showed the need of these students to have an academic guide who is keenly concerned with them through their university phase.

In addition, there is a necessity to make changes in methodologies and evaluation methods (oral-projects) and to use helping technology during spoken ،audible books and online education.

The researcher recommended the importance of further research on investigating best practices and methods of teaching and evaluation that help students with learning disabilities at the university level.
