Abstract EN

Algeria is facing, like other developing countries major development challenges can be summarized in the shortage of local funding sources to finance plans and economic development projects, so it proceeded to take actions and several measures in order to provide a favorable investment climate through the promotion of the investment system and improve the business environment to attract foreign direct investment, because it is aware of the importance of the foreign direct investment that can solve many economical problems The study aims to identify the factors attracting FDI to Algeria in order to strengthen them, and to identify the factors estranging FDI in order to face and overcome or reduce their effects.

The study found that there are several factors repellent for foreign direct investment, represented mainly in:  the continuing link to oil prices of the Algerian economy and enhance its ability to import external shocks.

 Algeria weak site in the indicators of good governance, which led to the vagueness of the conditions of work in case of doubt, because of the high levels of corruption and weak rule of law.

 Low efficiency of the basal structures especially the network of roads, railways and ports, which reflected negatively in wasting time and increasing the additional costs of investors.
