This article aims to dismantle two intellectual currents that dominated Western thought until recently.

They are the currents of modernity and postmodernism, as they are considered two currents and phenomena of European origin; they were formed in the European context according to factors and influences known to European societies that led to the formation of major transformations that were the starting point For a great artistic, literary, cultural and industrial movement, Where all these transformations that formed Western and European modernity in particular led to several negatives and manifestations associated with the European Renaissance, and consequently the emergence of the postmodern current as one of the secretions of modernity and as a reaction to it to correct its course and to overcome its negatives within a critical context to it.
