Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to determine the direction the relationship between inflation and unemployment in Algeria, It also aims to test the traditional relationship of Philips and its compatibility with the reality of the Algerian economy using a econometrics model on the annual time series data for 1980-2018, The results of the study reveals that there is a one-way causal relationship from inflation to unemployment, and the relationship between them is a positive, as such the assumptions of the Philips curve do not correspond to the realities of the Algerian economy.
