Abstract EN

There is no doubt today that tourism is one of the largest industries in the world, given that it shows high rates of growth which by far outweigh those achieved by other sectors, and even above the rate of growth of the global economy as a whole .

perhaps the diversity and multiplicity of ranges covered by the tourism activities is what makes this industry so growth driving .

and added to that , diversity is what made tourism one of the most influential activities on both the economic global level or at the country one .

despite the shocks that characterized the world economy in recent years, this sector has quickly regained its positive indicators, especially after the recent financial crisis.

But on the other hand , the Algerian tourism sector is still far from playing an important role in the national economy and keep pace with the evolution of the industry worldwide .

This paper is trying to shed light on the economic performance of the global tourism industry using various indicators, and then try to address the situation of the tourism sector in Algeria and its economic role , and finally analyze the most important obstacles that have led the sector to this position , with an indication of a number of recommendations in order to promote the tourism industry in Algeria.
