Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the relationship to selfdisclosure and social anxiety in adolescents with hard-of-hearing.

The sample of the study consisted of (60) hard-of-hearing teenagers (30 males, 30 females), from the age group (15 to 17 years), from Omar Ibn El Khattab School for the Hearing Impaired in Mansoura, Dakahlia Governorate.

The measuring instruments used in this study were: measure of economic and social level and cultural captives" (Setup-Mohammed Ahmed Saafan and Doaa Mohammed khattab, 2016), IQ test non-verbal communication (Setup-Fayza Mkromy Said Bakr, Review -Farouk Abdel Fattah Mosa, 2012), measure of selfdisclosure in hard-of-hearing adolescents (Setup-researcher), measure of social anxiety in hard-of-hearing adolescents (Setup-researcher).

The study results revealed the following: The study results indicated that there was a negative relationship between the disclosure of interests and study matters, physical appearance, overall score and social anxiety, while physiological symptoms were positive relationship, While, there was a positive relationship between the disclosure of attitudes and personal matters and social relations and social anxiety, while interaction anxiety was negatively related to the disclosure of personal matters and social relations, and negative selfevaluation was negatively related to the disclosure of personal matters.

There are also no statistically significant differences between male and female scores in self-disclosure, While there were differences between them in the disclosure of attitudes and body appearance and overall score in favor of males.

There are no statistically significant differences between male and female scores in social anxiety، While there were differences between them in the negative self-evaluation in favor of males, The results also indicated that some dimensions of self-disclosure do not predict the overall degree of social anxiety in hearing-impaired adolescents.
