Abstract EN

Although historical geography is one of the oldest branches of human geography in terms of time dimension, it still enjoys a share of modern research trends that rely on research and assessment in ways and approaches that are not traditional.

This research aims to study the research trends of historical geography in a selection of well-known international journals, categorize those trends in terms of spatial and objective dimensions, analyse those dimensions, determine their characteristics and concentration in a geographical region alone, and examine the justifications for disparities in historical geographical thought.

To achive this, the researcher carried out a comprehensive examination of a series of journals, ten scientific journals were selected from them and the most interested in urban historical geography was selected, where four journals were selected to analyze their results, where journals specialized in urban historical geography and others most interested in this trend of research.This research also seeks at the end to present the researcher's future vision and what it can take in its future studies and the most important intitivistic trends that it can adopt as a deep research and objective distinction that would add to contemporary historical geographical thought.
