This Research deals with the history of a part of Al-Yamamah region during the 4lh and 5lh Hijra centuries (10lh, ll,h AD) as depicted in the writings of both Al-Hamdani (D.

345H/ 957 AD ) in his book entitled " Description of Arabia" (Sifat Jazeerat Al-Arab) and Nasir Khosrau (D 481H/1088 AD) in his well known travel accounts "Safamamah" Both books contain original information of the history of the two areas Since the two sources are separated by a time span of 120 years this study endeavored to compare and correlate their information which rendered somewhat a vivid picture of their history and revealed some of the changes that have occurred within the period of time The research is divided into four sections, first: Bilad Al-Falaj in Al-Hamdani's writings, Second Bilad Al-Falaj in Nasir Khosrau writings, Third: Bilad Al-Kharj in Al-Hamdani's writings, Fourth: the town of Al-Khidramah as described by Kosrau.

The research shed light on several points, such as aspects of the social and economic conditions, the activities of the people in the two areas It has clarified the misconception of some scholars that the city Nasir Khosrau visited was Hajr (Modem Riyadh) and proved that it was Khidramah (Modern Khaij).
