Recently the Saudi universities took added interest in the study of the History of Al-Andalus.

Scours of researchers took it upon themselves to Further these studies.

The Saudi Historical society in an endeavor to encourage these studies carried out the publishing this treatise.

This study by Dr.H.

Suhaibani is worthy of publishing not only for the authors skills in treating a sensitive subject but because such study fill a gap in our knowledge of the history of Muslim Spain.

Arab and Muslim Authors usually prefer to write on the ages of the grandore of al-Andalus and usually shy away for the studies of the ages that witnessed the decline of the Muslim domain in al-Andalus.

The era the author is writing about was that of the hopes and trepidations of the people of al-Andalus; the hope of getting the help needed to reverse the serious conditions al- Andalus witnessed during the Reconquista i.e.

the attempts of Bani Marin to help their besieged follow Muslim in the falling Muslim cities of al- Andalus.

The people of al-Andalus were hoping to repeat the successes they gained during the Moravids and Mohads empires when these two empires stopped the decline of Muslim domain in al-Andalus.
