Abstract EN

Al though many see ideological and political conflicts as mere actions and measures taken by authorities and political organizations, it has been proved that a considerable part of the political influence is engendered by language itself.

It’s through language that masses are mobilized and guided, which means that language is not only a means of communication, but also an inftrument for deconftruction/ reconftruction and humiliation/praise.

In our article we deal with terms used in Ideological and political conflicts in the Arab context, both before and after the “Arab Spring”, with a special focus on the Tunisian case.

In fact, the poft-revolutionary period has witnessed a lot of changes, at the levels of the political practice and terminologies.

We will dedicate the firft part of our article to the kinds of conflicts occurring in the Arab World.

of importance are the Secular-Islamic and the Israeli-Paleftinian conflicts, as well as conflicts that have sectarian aspects like the Shii-Sunni conflict.

The second part, however, will be dedicated to the ftudy of linguiftic (both ftyliftic and lexical) ftrategies used in these conflicts.

But it should be noted that no single article can encompass all ideological conflicts of the Arab region and their terms.
