The emergence and development of environmental accounting as a tool for measuring development performance is mainly based on the triple harmony of the pressures exerted by the actors of the companies, in particular the traditional accounting limited in the real evaluation of the results and its effects, as well as high environmental costs, reflecting the decline in the value added of economic activity in general.

In this context, this paper focuses on the role of environmental accounting in sustainable development by presenting a summary of the main tools that can be used in accordance with the mathematical standards of modern economic analysis, in particular the state of environmental costs.

to transform the path of business development, an essential element in the analysis of the relationships of mutual influence between different economic agents, as they have an impact on GDP or green production as the most important indicator of performance in sustainable development of various economic sectors.
