Intermediate dictionary is a dictionary that was issued by the Academy of the Arabic Language in Cairo, at the request of the Ministry of Education in 1936 AD.

It aims to add this dictionary to the Arab world in general and the Arabic language in particular so that it meets the needs of the present time.

The dictionary must be tightly arranged and classified in a clear manner, easy to search, and includes pictures of everything that needs to be explained to depict art terms in a modern style.

When this dictionary came out to people, they accepted it well, it has been widely used.

Moreover, It turned out that it has fulfilled the intended desire among the Arab intellectuals who wanted to study it.

So, what are the components of lexical units in the intermediate dictionary, what are their characteristics and types, and what has been created for the Arab library in its successive generations.
