Abstract EN

The present study aims to measure the level of hope on a sample of students from the University of Ouargla and to discover the differences between them in the variables: (gender - age - academic level - residence).

After applying the Snyder scale of hope the validity and reliability of the scale were confirmed.

Then the scale was applied on a sample of (315) second- and third-year students from the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences for the academic year 2018/2019.

Using the descriptive approach and the statistical processing of the data, the results showed that there is an average level of hope among university students and that there are no statistically significant differences between the average scores.

hope according to the gender variable and the variable of academic level (second and third) and the age variable and that there are statistically significant differences between the means of the degrees of hope according to the variable Residence in favor of out of university residence.
