Abstract EN

Since human lives on the earth, he provides some of his production or his income for the necessary time, in order to create a stability and protection.

As a result, this phenomenon is prehistoric, which most of religions and societies were adopted it.

Therefore, this paper assumes to study the saving (as an economics event) at the Islamic and Western economics thought.

Finally, the results of study were summarized in three points; the saving phenomenon is developed based on its historical steps, and the Islamic economics has encouraged the saving but without capital accumulation.

On the other hand, the Western economics thought has focus its studies on the determinants of saving, which are the interest rate, available income and the marginal propensity to consume.
