Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed behavioral training program to develop self-care skills (hygiene - general appearance) and social skills (waiting for the role - respecting the classroom system) among children with Down syndrome, a moderate mental disability, By following the experimental approach according to the semi-experimental design in one group with two dimensions, pre and post, this study was applied to a sample consisting of (06) children with a class of Down syndrome of moderate mental disability, chosen intentionally from the pedagogical psychological center in Debila- El Oued (Algeria), This is based on the classification of the center and the results of the Godanf man drawing test to measure children's intelligence and the scale of self-care and social skills (prepared by the researcher) to determine the level of previously acquired skills.

The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which is that the program has effectiveness in developing hygiene skills and general appearance skills related to self-care skills, role-waiting skills and respect for the classroom system related to social skills of study sample individuals.
