Abstract EN

The researcher on this topic, has an intellectual and cognitive ambition that aspires to lay the for foundations an authentic Islamic approach in studying Religion and religiosity away from the dominance of Western materialistic approaches (which revelation and unseen and their facts are absent in the field of knowledge).

It is an attempt to rid research and study methods in the humanities in our Arab world from tradition and flawed dependency, since “science of Religions” and its methodological aspects in particular are a field in which the effects of that dependency are clearly evident.

That is why we have directed in this research towards the curricula that Islamic thought has devised in the field of Comparative Religions, by defining them and showing their pioneers, and a statement of their characteristics and advantages.

This was a prelude to talking about the Western curricula, its criticism, and its deficiencies and defects.

In addition, I have tried to emphasize that our intellectual heritage in the field of religions deserves from us today more valuation, a cognitive and systematic investment in order to establishfrom it- an Islamic approach that transcends the flaws of the newly developed western approaches and its epistemological and methodological gaps (disadvantages) ! In the end, this study tries to touch on these problems and presents major features of an Islamic approach to study Religion and religiosity
