Abstract EN

The Sufi discourse accommodates many readings, but its content extends over enormous layers of meanings awaiting those who explore its mysteries and discover its secrets, and this is what we will learn about in the commandments of Ibn Arabi, especially since the texts of the commandments depend on two main axes in building their meanings and form their discourse and its extension, and these two axes are the outline and the detail; but not by the well-known rhetorical term.

Because they are two terms related to the objectives and the mystical spiritual experience on the one hand, and to the knowledge of language on the other hand; they are also related to a set of cognitive and argumentative foundations as well.

Based on some pragmatic and cognitive tools in the approach of Ibn Arabi’s commandments, this paper aims to identify the ability of these linguistic principles of knowledge in the approach to the texts of the commandments; it also aims to know the extent of its discourse and its connection to the conceptual, communicative, and argumentative purposes within the terms summarization and detail.
