The aim of this research is to introduce the principles of lexicology and to praise the methodology of the school of phonetic fluctuations in Arabic lexicography, which was founded by the methodology of Al- Khalīl ibn Aḥmad al-Farāhīdī in the introduction of his book “Al-'Ayn fi Logha”.

AlKhalīl set his book on seven general foundations: the phonetic basis, the root basis, the quantitative basis, the fluctuation basis, the basis of origin and branch, the basis of correctness and fault, and the basis of usage and neglect.Thus, in this paper, we will try to stand at the most important of these foundations through explaining, analyzing and representing
