Abstract EN

The current study aimed at identifying The Effectiveness of a Programme for Developing Listening Comprehension Skills for the Primary Stage Pupils And to achieve the aim of the study, the researcher used the quasi-experimental methodology based on the design of the experimental and control groups, and designed a number of tools and research materials.

After verifying the validity of the study tools and its materials and measuring their credibility, they were applied on the study sample which consisted of (38) pupils of the sixth grade.

They were divided into two groups; The experimental group consisted of (19) pupils.

They were taught by the programme based on the storytelling approach.

And the control group consisted of (19) pupils.

They were taught by the traditional method.

After collecting data, it was treated by a number of appropriate statistical methods and the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in favour of the experimental group in the post-administration of the levels of listening comprehension skills, namely: direct comprehension, inferential comprehension, critical comprehension, appreciative comprehension, and creative comprehension.

Also, the effect size was significant for all levels.

tn the light of the results, the study recommended a number of recommendations and suggestions.
