Abstract EN

The present study aimed at identifying the requirements of applying the academic guidance for the students of the new Faculty of Education in light of their extension needs at the University of South Valley.

A questionnaire was prepared to identify the extension needs of the new students consisting of (77) articles divided into four fields: academic, social, Psychological , Professional field The study found that the degree of extension needs for new students was relatively large, and that the highest degree of extension needs were academic needs, psychological needs, followed by professional needs, and finally came to a medium degree of social needs.

The study also found that there are no statistically significant differences due to specialization variable, There are statistically significant differences due to the gender variable in favor of females in the (psychosocial – social - professional) needs
