An analytical study of Richard Simon’s most notable views on the history of The Bible and its role in the foundation of biblical criticism.

It should be noted that the most famous copies of the Old Testament are four copies, the first: the Hebrew or Samaritan version, which is a Hebrew version that contains only the five books and two books from the Old Testament, limited to some of the sects of the Jews as a sacred source.

The second: the Masoretic version, which is a Hebrew version that contains the books of the Old Testament, and it is approved between the common Jews and the Protestant Christians.

And the third: the Septuagint version, which is the oldest translation from Hebrew to Greek, made by the Jews of Alexandria, and relied upon by the Roman Catholic Church in its version of the Bible.
