The bias of a deviant pattern in the making of judgments and decisions ، which occurs in certain situations ، leads to distortion of sensibility ، inaccurate judgment ، an illogical interpretation of events ، or so-called irrationality; The bias of the status quo is the most important obstacle in decision-making and judgment.

It is a preference for the current situation.

Any change in the baseline is considered loss by the individual in other words ، people's dislike of the loss that leads them to stay in the status quo.

The scholars differ in their interpretation of the different theories.

Another concept that affects decision-making is the satisfaction of psychological needs as a result of achieving innate and fundamental psychological demands for satisfaction with life ، integration and psychological growth.

The psychological needs are the need for autonomy ، the need for relatedness and the need for competence.

The current situation is the result of motivational factors related to the satisfaction of psychological needs such as self-esteem and strengthening ، and the need to protect this estimate ، without any change ، To achieve the objectives of research ، the researcher has designed a measuring instrument for status quo bias and Arabizing the psychological needs satisfaction instrument originally proposed by Decie and Ryan (2000) according theory self-identification.

The instrument has been conducted on the research sample amounted to 400 university students.

The data have been analyzed using appropriate statistical tools.

The results reveal that: 1- There is a significant statistical difference in status quo bias in terms of gender in favor of females.

2- There is no significant statistical difference in the psychological needs satisfaction in terms of gender and major.

Of research finding a number of recommendation and further research are suggested.
