Abstract EN

The present research dealt with the study of sedimentary islands in the Nile River in the sector extending between Dairut in the south and al-Minia in the north, Using Geographical Information Systems And Remote Sensing Technique (GIS and RS) , through the following main elements : First: Types of Islands : 1- Permanent Islands.

2- Seasonal islands.

Second : Development of Morpometric Characteristics of Sedimentary Islands in the Study Sector : 1- Evolution of river island numbers.

2- Evolution of river island lengths.

3- Evolution of river island offerings.

4- development of areas of river islands.

5- Forms of islands.

Third : Monitoring the changes of the islands during the study period: 1- River islands during the period from 1801 to 1908.

2- River islands during the period from 1908 to 1940.

3- River islands during the period from 1940 to 1956.

4- River Islands during the period from 1956 to 1988.

5- River Islands during the period from 1988 to 2005.

6- River Islands during the period from 2005 to 2017.

Fourth : Spatial change of river islands (side migration).
