After Italy occupied Ethiopia in 1936, it began to use rumors as a weapon designed to separate the Ethiopian church from the Coptic Church, in order to undermine Egyptian influence in Ethiopia.

The rumors that appeared about the Archbishop of Ethiopia in 1937 were a watershed in the history of the relations between the Coptic and Ethiopian Churches, and infinite controversy arose.

Significance of study : From this previous premise we return to dealing with this issue which had a great impact on the Coptic and Ethiopian society at that time, especially in light of the spread of rumors that revolve around the approval of the Coptic Ethiopian Archbishop to separate the Ethiopian Church from the Egyptian Church.
