Abstract EN

The Poetic Images represent the main structural element of the poetic moment's attempt to discover the objective reality and reverse it aesthetically.

In this research I try to answer of question of how did the poetic images in the Iraqi poem represent the content of the social revolutionary moment after The Revolution of July 1958? This research consists of two theoretical and practical sections that are located after A descriptive introduction.

The theoretical section deals with the development of the concept of Poetic Image in literary criticism, both ancient and modern.

The practical section deals with how the Iraqi poet portrayed the socio – political content of the revolutionary moment after the fourteenth of July 1958 in Iraq until the seventh of February 1963 focusing attention on the sources of the Poetic Image and its patterns of Active Images and Ineffective Images.
