Abstract EN

This study aims at identifying the tools and criteria of assessment which are used by Jordanian mathematics teachers and their relations with the teacher’s experience and his attempts to improve his educational qualification.

The study is built on the descriptive method.

The population of the study consisted all math teachers in al-karak educational.

Directorate (132 teachers) with a percentage of %57 of the population.

A two-part questionnaire was designed for data collection, assessment tools part and assessment criteria part.

The finding of this study revealed that the daily note books, quizzes, long exams and homework are the most usable assessment tools that are used by teachers to assess their students’ performances.

Another result is that written model answers, checklists, rating scales and finally rubrics are used by teachers as assessment criteria.
