Abstract EN

The Yemeni people immigration to the United States is the best witness to the unique Yemeni personality which seeks adventure and better life.

Although the distance between Yemen and the United States is full of risks and difficulties and it is too long as the passengers spend a long time on the ships, the Yemeni immigrants could overcome the difficulties and achieve success in the United States as well as encourage their friend and relatives to immigrate to the United States.

The number of Yemeni immigrants in the United States is in increase and it has reached about quarter a million in the current time.

Studies about this phenomenon have become essential especially after about one and quarter centuries since its beginning.

Researches in this area are important from the side of the academicians and the academic institutes should pay attention to this phenomenon, and this study is an effort to explore it and attract the attention of the researchers to maximize up their concern about this issue.

This study will explore the Yemeni immigration to the United States by giving a brief account about its current situation and its history to know when and how the Yemeni immigrants could arrive to the United State.

This study will explore this phenomenon in the second half of the 19th century and the 20th century.

This study will look at the cities which were the destination for Yemeni immigrants and the types of the work they took as well as their income and the social background of their life.

The remains which this wave of immigration left behind is also one of the aims to be explored by this study as well as the results and the recommendations for how to take benefit from such phenomenon for both the immigrants and the home country
