Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to demonstrate the educational implications of the positive inter-relationship between the Imam and the M’mum, with the view to revive the role of the mosque and its mission in shaping the Muslim character and building a Muslim, being distinguished by his religion and moderation.

Such a believing personality is driven by the lights of knowledge to achieve the civilized advancement which rests with the whole nation, as individuals and communities.

There is a great relationship between the imam and the ma’mum, the aspects of which is explained by the Sunnah in various sections of the Sunnah books, such as the sections dealing with the imamate, leadership in prayer, the prayer, the Friday prayer and the congregational one.

Since the mosque is an Islamic educational institution, it does not fulfill its effective educational message without the existence of a qualified Imam.

Such an imam has a message, an objective and a goal, stemming from missionary, educational and social goals and objectives, through an interactive process, which is based on the validity of his methodology.

His methodology, based on the infallible revelation of Qur'an and Sunna, affects his followers in various aspects, including the educational, scientific, behavioral and social ones.

This research theorizes such a relationship from its jurisprudential and educational perspective.

Such a relationship is not based on material worldly interests; but it is the relationship of learning and reception, construction and education, and follow-up, so that the worshippers could become followers and pupils of the leader of their mosque.

The research reached the following results: 1- The Prophetic Sunnah set the general framework for the relationship between the imam and the ma’mum.

2- To uncover aspects of the educational relationship, including the scientific, dogmatic and behavioral ones.

3- To determine a legal knowledge framework for the imam to deal with the ma’mum.

This study makes the following recommendations: The need for securing the interest of official missionary institutions to disseminate this relationship, including its educational knowledge, being entrusted to the mosque leader.

It is also needed to give the mosques the attention of the official institutions responsible for the preparation of qualified imams.

Those imams are bound to realize these educational contents.
