Abstract EN

The disagreement between Mu'tazilah and Asha'irah about beautifying and uglification had a major impact on their judgment on sending prophets, Mu'tazilah claimed that sending prophets is an obligation on Allah to do.

Whereas Al-Asha'rah agreed with Ahla Sunnah oul-Jamā‘ah (people of the tradition [of Muhammad and the community]) when they said that sending prophets is reasonably allowed and has already happened, but their deviation was on the attributes of Allah, and especially the fate, made them fall into denying that Allah's actions, such as sending prophets, has a purpose.

It is necessarily known in Islam that Allah the almighty never does anything that is devoid of wisdom, and that is best shown in sending prophets, which was declared by Allah in the following verse: “Messengers of good cheer and of warning, in order that mankind might have no argument against Allah after the messengers.

Allah was ever Mighty, Wise”, AlNisa 165.

That is when it comes to sending prophets, but when it comes to the signs of prophethood, Mu'tazilah considered the miracles as the only sign of the sincerity of prophets and restricted that to what is challenging and breaking the usual.

For that they fall in a major danger, which is the denial of the other powers such as the powers of magicians and priests, in addition to the Karamat- gifts given by Allah in the form of powers, that are given to Awliyā’ and righteous people.

The Asha'rah could not differentiate between the powers of prophets and the powers of others like priests and magicians...

etc.

It is necessarily known from Islam that the signs and miracles that Allah gave to his prophets derive from three things which are knowledge, ability, and wealth.

And these three things from which miracles are rooted should not be in the perfect form for anyone unless for Allah the Almighty, for that Allah has commanded his prophet, peace be upon him, to free himself from these matters.

“Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): I say not unto you (that) I possess the treasures of Allah, nor that I have knowledge of the Unseen; and I say not unto you: Lo! I am an angel.

I follow only that which is inspired in me.

Say: Are the blind man and the seer equal? Will ye not then take thought?”, Al-Anaam 50.
