Abstract EN

Yemen is one of the world's most water-scarce countries.

The annual rate of water per capita does not exceed (130 m³ / year) compared to more than (1250 m³/year) per capita in the Middle East and North Africa region, and (7000 m³ / year) per person at the global level.

This research aims to analyze the current reality of groundwater use in industrial and service activities in Dhamar city.

The study uses descriptive, analytical and statistical approaches.

The results of the research show that the total consumption of groundwater for industrial and service uses amounts to 118,042,000 liters per year.

Cement bricks factories ranked first place, with the used quantities of water reaching 60,480,000 liters per year; followed by stone saws with a quantity of water use estimated at 30,058,000 liters per year; and lastly car wash centers which use 27,504,000 liters per year.
