Abstract EN

Through this research paper, we discussed the information technology, through which we seek to eliminate ambiguity around it and provide a clearer picture of the various concepts related to it.

Then we studied the reality of these technologies in Algeria, in order to assess what it has been reached in two past decades, so we can determine its position by comparing various numbers.

What appears from this study is that the information technology sector has made a remarkable progress, but this progress is still in its infancy, as Algeria knows a significant delay compared to what this sector can provide.

This delay has had a negative impact on the economy in general.

Where the study led to that the telecommunications sector suffers a tremendous deficit in the trade balance, and the figures achieved in this field are still far from those expected and achieved in other developed countries.
