Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the role of sovereign funds in supporting economic diversification efforts in the oil countries, by highlighting the reality of the UAE development experience and planning for the post-oil phase through strategies for economic diversification and sustainable development, through our study of the experience of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

, Which seeks to establish a sustainable and diversified economy, through the establishment of the Fund "Mubadala", in an effort to invest petroleum wealth for the benefit of other economic areas, with no dependence on oil alone as a main source of national income, and work to diversify Income and building economic projects that contribute to the provision of jobs in new sectors gives a distinctive and rewarding career opportunities for the people of the emirate, and thus provide them with a decent life and stable.

As there is a clear link between economic diversification and sustainability, the road to sustainability begins with diversification, so the further progress of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by stimulating non-oil sectors, especially export-oriented businesses, leads to less volatility in economic growth.

Through this study, we have demonstrated the effectiveness of Mubadala's role in building a diversified and sustainable knowledge-based economy by successfully fulfilling a large part of its commitments by investing in, developing and diversifying strategic economic sectors.

Mubadala has an investment portfolio of more than AED 465.5 billion, operating in more than 30 countries, through investments in various sectors (industry, financial, energy, healthcare).

Technology This resulted in the Fund achieving substantial financial revenues during the period studied and thus contributing to the diversification of income sources for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, reflecting the wise leadership of the Government of Abu Dhabi.
