Abstract EN

This paper has dealt study and analysis with the reality of the activities of civil society organizations; represented by the Algerian Islamic Scout Organization in Ain-Touta province and its relation to the building of a sustainable development, especially through the social and environmental responsibility index and their impact on the building of a local sustainable development in its environmental and social aspects.

This study aims to diagnose the reality of the sustainable development's requirements in theoretical literature with a focus on the environmental and social dimension and the possibility of activating them in the field.

The study has reached a number of important results.

First, the degree of environmental and social awareness among the members of the Algerian Islamic Scouts in Ain -Touta province is great, and this positively affects the building of a local sustainable development.

In addition, the study foundthat the positive role played by the Algerian Scout in the field of urban and social environment is effective and strong in the field of awareness and sensitization the civil society to the importance of preserving the quality of the urban environment and improving the quality of life in the city
