This study aims to reveal the role of theater in the Algerian revolution and its impact on it and the influence of the latter on it.

The latter has provoked many reactions in various fields including the humanitarian, social and cultural ones.

The poet Abdel Rahman Cherkaoui attempted in his masterpiece "The Tragedy of Jamila" to picture the reality of sufferance among Algerian women and their struggles and sacrifices for freedom, and this is what we will endeavor to reveal in exploring this revolutionary play.

We are also going to reveal the dimensions of the character "Jamila Bouhierd" which represents one of the thousands of Algerians who contributed to the liberation of the country.
